Volunteer work is important in a community for many reasons. Both the volunteers and whoever they are helping benefit greatly. It allows people to come together to help worthy causes like preserving the environment or helping people in need — even helping a little bit can create huge positive impacts. Volunteering is also an opportunity to meet people from all over the world and create connections that enable cultural exchange and multicultural understanding.

€380 per month, which includes accommodation, food and local transport while in Kenya.
Our staff will pick you up at the airport, followed by one day of orientation in Nairobi.
You will live with a host family and have three meals a day.
The UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers Programme (WHV) raises awareness among young people of the importance of World Heritage conservation, giving them concrete skills through action camps at World Heritage sites. KVSO Kenya organizes four action camps from June to August: in Maasai Mara National Park, Thimlich Ohinga Archeological Site, Tsavo National Parks & Chyulu Hills Complex, and Kakamega Rainforest.

A short-term volunteering placement lets you experience Kenyan culture and meet volunteers from all over the world — a unique way to volunteer abroad, especially for those who only have a short time available. The Thimlich Ohinga WHV camp is a real example — 8 days, Migori County.

A mid or long-term placement gives you the opportunity to become part of a community and get an immersive insight into new cultures, while being involved in a project that improves local people's lives. The Kakamega Rainforest project runs March to August as a real example of this track.
